Gush On: I loved this film. B&W, set in Iran, and about life in "Bad City" where a vampire haunts the streets at night. This is a very interesting and fresh vampire tale. Shelia Vand (possessing great "approachable beauty") plays "The Girl" in the night. She has moments with the bad and leaves the good alone. One night she encounters Arash who is flying on ecstasy and takes him home on skateboard. There is romance in the air. Gush off.
The plot has a diverse set of characters and employs vampire moves I've only seen in one other movie. Of course, being set in Iran definitely has an appeal and the characters are well-drawn. The soundtrack is special also. I wondered how a Farsi Western could be shot at home and the answer is: California is Iran.
