Semi-interesting premise. Kind of like Face Off with the whole body involved. Kingsley is an old NYC billionaire who finds out about "shedding" and pursues it. He checks in and sees Ryan Reynolds as the body he will inhabit that has been genetically engineered in the lab. Kingsley makes the jump but has disturbing flashbacks of someone else life. Yup, Reynold was not a test tube human but someone desperate to save his child. So goes the story of re-connecting and such. While the lab tries to stop him by any means possible.
Kingsley pours it on as a totally non-redemptive man. He seems to be good at that. Reynolds always has that cute Canuk thing barely hiding under his veneer although I sometimes feel it charming. The film cannot be faulted for production values and shows a nice slice of life in NOLA.
Action, sure. Still not that great of a movie.
Maybe a DVD, maybe not.
