This film had all the great things needed to go back to 1963: the cars, the clothes, the women, and the settings. It had everything but a decent script and story line.
Poor Henry Cavill seemed miscast in this one. I believe his performance was hindered by his attempt to project a Robert Vaughan voice styling. It didn't work for me--if it had been more subtle (if possible) maybe it would have been effective. Armie Hammer did even give the accent thing much of a try which, to me, made him almost all-American.
The competitive play in the film was completely different from the series as the whole movie was Spy vs. Spy rather than the tight team work we saw as kids.
If you want to take a trip down memory lane then saunter on down to the walk-in. If you want to save that popcorn and coke money for a better film then get ready to queue it up on the cable.
