RE: a cautionary tale, I guess....

except no one was ever as over-the-top as was DiCaprio/Scorcese in this movie.

There is definitely a 'not-so-subtle' message to anyone watching this movie. And that is that all the different venues on the U.S. Stock exchange are indeed vulnerable to scammers such as Jordan Belfort.

Indeed the financial welfare of the US economy is made vulnerable to scoundrels such as he. And by extension this affects all of us, 401-K holders and non-investors.

The early scene with Mark Hanna ((Matthew McConaughey) really sets the tone. The message was that stock brokers are more interested in maximizing their comi$$ion$ than making solid investments for their customers/clients.

Whether or not the NYSE is really this corrupt, the movie does suggest that 'some' stockbrokers and many of their customers/clients are all about making an easy killing in the shortest amount of time.
