If you are tired of that endless British humor, consider the OTHER, perhaps even more bizarre option - head straight for Sweden.
"A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence" is a mouthful, so expect a rich award, and you will not be disappointed, if bizarre to the point of being nearly painfully ridiculous, in the genre of surrealist comedy is your cup of tea.
How funny, you say? Well, I don't remember when was last time I nearly choked laughing - the parts of the film are simply so incredibly insightful and filled with razor-sharp humor, that it hurts your laugh muscles. It brings back the memories of the best European films in that style.
It does, however, get a bit tired towards its end, its best scenes are mostly lumped near the front... but if you are in the mood for something as far removed from Hollywood as inhumanly possible, this might be the film for you.
One warning - much of the humor is very subtle, and lives in the smallest image details, so make sure you pay attention!
