One analysis I've read (and forgotten the source of) stated that DiCaprio won't get it (yet again) because his role as Hugh Glass was way "over the top", or words to that effect, same as in some previous roles.
I've never considered that aspect, but he does seem to be a colorful guy in exaggerated roles. Any thoughts about that? Should this be an exclusionary trait?
