Yep, our sassy, overbearing gal is back to her real self. 'Spy' I enjoyed but 'The Boss' I endured. McCarthy delivered her usual machine gun one-liners as a recently convicted financial icon thrown into prison while having everything seized for insider trading. She finally gets out and ends up staying with her former assistant, Kristen Bell.
There's not much to say about raucous comedy other than there are some pretty funny gags. Peter Dinklage was off his game in this one. He was probably wondering why he accepted the role he played. The brawling teen aged girls were funny as the McCarthy Youth hell bent on selling brownies and dominating the neighborhoods.
Another film to forget UNLESS you are a McCarthy fan--and they do exist. My audience laughed a good bit at the gags while I most laughed at other things.
