The Conqueror -- 1956, John Wayne, Susan Hayward.

This oldie was so bad that it was pure comedy. As such, it was fun to watch. Even in its day, it rated only 11% critical approval (however it was done then). Wayne as Ghengis Khan was an absolute hoot; so much so, that Mel Brooks would approve of the casting (which way to the Danube, pilgrim?). Acting was dated for sure; Mongolian women dancing like in a Broadway musical; fight scenes looking very awkward and poorly choreographed, guys shot with arrows acting like a mosquito just stuck them.

But this is what it was then. By today's standards, it becomes farce and comedy. Worth watching from that aspect. Also worth seeing if interested in movie standards of that period. Orson Welles was seen in a very limited lackey role. Hayward as a Tartar princess looked like Grace of Monaco.

I watched a color version, but don't know if it was as shot or colorized later. Very good rich color, filmed in Nevada near (or on) the bomb testing real estate. I read that most or all in that movie died of cancer. I haven't validated that comment, so maybe somebody here can research it. If you are put off by the Nevada Basin trying to pass as the Mongolian Steppe, then keep in mind that 1956 location access might have been a bit difficult. Excellent horsemanship seen throughout; befitting a movie about Mongols.
