What kind of horror movie has an Elvis sing-a-long, true romance, and a happy ending? Just this one. 'The Conjuring' got a few rises out of me but this one has Disney Dust blown on it. There are one or three quick rises but pretty humdrum for the rest of the film. There is quite of bit of suspension of disbelief required.
Wilson and Farmiga turn in their yeomen performances with the help of a Brit cast that does its part as well. A standout would be Madison Wolfe who plays the inhabited 11 year-old who resides in the trouble house.
This film doesn't really scare-up the seasoned audience but may prove entertaining to young or occasional movie-goer. Tread lightly.
