On the USA Network, with Alice Braga as the anti-heroine caught up in Mexican drug cartel business. This one is a lowlife saga, but the first 2 episodes seem to be developing some complex inter-relationships. They weave in some present, then future juxtaposed scenes to help keep you wired in. Complex enough to hold a fair amount of interest.
Its just getting rolling, so if interested, you can catch the first 2 episodes on cable back play. Current showings will be on Thursday nights.
I'm calling this one out primarily for the photography. The dramatic lighting and colors really pop this one off of the screen. A lot of the scenes are in or supposed to be in Mexico (mostly Sinaloa Province), so the colors have that intense, warm cast associated with warmer climes. Well done I think. This trick was first noticed by me in the old CSI: Miami show, but here its a bit more subtle; not garish. Check it out.
