An interesting and well done enough exploration/documentary/celebration of the necessary Trauffaut 1966 book.
Actual audio tapes from the series of interviews that comprised the book as well as insights/opinions/chat from a handful of
current, respected film directors. Minimal bio material for the uninitiated.
Always a pleasure to hear Hitchcock and the scenes/films being discussed cut with the actual scenes? Well, yeah, that works damn well.
If you're a Hitchcock fan you'll want to see this even if you don't need to see it. If you've worn out the book, you'll still want to view this.
Trauffaut did many things right and his book is at the top of the list.
Playing on HBO.
