'La La Land': Monstrously Mediocre

From the first ill-conceived song and dance opening through ever other number it was everything I could do to not walk out. I cannot believe this highly overrated piece of crap has garnered the reviews and potential awards that it seems to have coming. Sure, we have the permanently cutesy Emma Stone (who can't sing) and the Rock-jawed Gosling (who can't sing) enmeshed in a fantasy romantic drama. The only part of the film I like was the ending where the clock was turned back and run with a different outcome to the story. Outside of that, this film had nothing going for it except for . . .

No profanity, no sex, and no violence of any kind eing propped up by some clever dialogue. This film is aimed square at the deplorable audience who is tired of all the cinematic drubbings they get year after year. I didn't see anyone leave the theatre. People were riveted by the semi-clean fun story of two star-crossed lovers trying to make it work.

I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. It really brings out the Krampus in me. There is NO chance of the Hollywood Musical making a comeback. At least I can breathe easy.
