I respect Vince Vaughn's effort to branch out to new character horizons, but to me his character as a southern dude didn't quite work. Southern dudes in movies usually don't say "zesty"?
That said, if you're a prison movie die-hard, this film had a ton of cell block violence with Vince pounding the daylights out of tattooed muscle creeps. He even pounds the daylight out of a car.
The fight scenes are staged well but it's no John Wick - more like John Wick meets Rocky Marciano.
I kind of enjoyed it- my girlfriend did not.
The 95% Rotten Tomato rating was perplexing...
