Yesterday my partner and I went to see "Gilbert" a documentary about comedian Gilbert Gottfried. It was touching, insightful and much more then we expected. We were basically hoping for a matinee laugh, but I was curious how this hilarious manic and crude comedian is a husband and father of two.
It gave a compelling view of his close relationship with his sisters (one a talented photographer, both un-married), his family life, his quirky inclinations, and his life "on the road". That man works hard.
Gilbert's off-stage persona was uncomfortable and soft spoken, making his Jekyll and Hyde transition on and off stage even more fascinating.
If you like Gilbert Gottfried, I highly recommend it.
Have a great day- Jim
