'All The Money In The World': Spacey not missed . . .

It seems to me that Plummer would have been the first choice over Spacey but because of Spacey's recognitions and awards he was a pathfinder this film's awards. Well, with Spacey or Plummer, I don't see a lot of awards piling up on this project anyway.

The story was adequately written and it illustrate's just how hard it was to secure Paul Getty's release over a period of months. J.P. didn't want to pay any ransom and we find the real reason near the end. Michele Williams was good, Roman Duris also fine as an Italian kidnapper, with Wahlberg doing his yeomen thing.

The Italian locales were nice and interiors lavish but none of it reached out and wowed me. Maybe that meant the narrative was working? All in all, this film was comprised of a lot of "rich" sniggers and letting the world know just how stingy and/or cheap J.P. Getty really was.

I was disappointed despite an effort to spice it up with some modest action. To me, this is a real coin toss between walking in and catching it on cable.
