The most excellent and brutal war movie ever made in my opinion; 1998, based on an autobiographical novel by James Jones, of the Battle of Guadalcanal, told from introspective narratives from various soldiers in one of the most deadly war campaigns.
This is not some John Wayne garbage. You won't hear anyone yelling Hoo-rah!
"War makes men dogs; poisons the soul." No need for popcorn; you probably won't feel like eating.
Currently showing on Cinemax, carried by Comcast cable.
