A Bob Dylan concert documentary with footage from seldom seen tapes filmed in the 80's. This was mostly within the 3 years of his so called Christian Era, when his fandom waned.
This film's strength is its format; stage performances interspersed with solo preacher sermon performances from Michael Shannon, one of the powerful orators in film today. You might recall him as General Zod in "The Man of Steel."
Both performers are at the top. This is a powerful film. If you are a Dylan fan, then you will want to see this. If you are so-so about him, you will still want to see it because of Shannon's presentations. Powerful stuff and very entertaining.
Showing on Cinemax, carried by Comcast cable, but also on a cd/dvd. It's worth your time to find it. IMO, Michael Shannon is one of our treasures.
