A very remote village in the French Alps that is nearly deserted is the setting for a reunion of people for a local man's wedding. Once they arrive, like moments later, a giant boulder breaks loose and cleaves the only bridge leading down the mountain. Now, our wedding party is trapped and soon to be picked off one-by-one.
Two ensembles play the same characters in order to set up the history of twenty years earlier and portray the victims of the unending slaughter in the present day. The story is rich with characters setting up the uneasy history and the ramifications to the young adults who were then kids.
At first it is a big whodunit but the clues are dropped and we soon realize who is exacting a cruel vengeance on former villagers. Still, it is somewhat compelling watching the ever-bubbling meltdown of the ensnared victims.
