being clever with wit and story.
Two guys grew up in Oakland and still managed to remain friends over the years. One witnesses a police murder in the beginning (which starts a slow burn reaction) and the other is in rebellion over the "gentrification" of their town. Humor, drama, violence, and anger are the main components of Daveed Diggs plight to finish up his halfway house probation and keeping Rafeal Casal harnessed and in line.
Diggs creates a very believable character and Casal pours on his desire to not be white perhaps a bit too much.
Entertaining but somewhat perplexing to non-Oaklandites.
2.5 wonks for writing and realism
1 wank for Casal being over the top
