Vic assessed this one a few threads back, as starting with promise, but fizzling out in the last 3 episodes. I've just sat through the first 3, which spin all the complicated intricacies for the players to supposedly work their way out of in the last 3. We'll see.Unlike LeCarre stories, where you don't know what the hell is going on even as you watch it, this one lays it out there for you. You don't know what will happen next, but you know what is happening now. A hapless cop gets sucked up into guard duty for, and an affair with, a high British minister. Terrorist bombs, assassination attempts, good sex, yada yada ...
I think its mildly intriguing and entertaining, but not too involving. The hero/antihero dude has a Brit accent that you can't cut with a jackhammer. Consider closed caption viewing if you indulge.
Edit: There was a flick made some ago called The Bodyguard, with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. Similar theme as the guard and his charge get emotionally involved.
