The first one came out in about 1972, the year I graduated form college.
A reviewer said of the first book, which was his graduate degree dissertation, he's either an amazing anthropologist or a great fictin writer.
Intersting stuff but the books get less so as they progress.
It would be interesting to see an adaptation of his peyote experiences and his dream sequences as he learns to control them and "fly".
