A 2008 work of a well known Russian director is, in two words, quite good.
It is told quietly in a typical Russian tradition - no Tom Cruise's "acting" there... or should I say - the European tradition... as it is also reminiscent of some soft focus Italian films. I like that kind of films, there is that strong humanist aspect to them, that is mostly missing today. It also made me feel like I never left - not a painful realization, not a happy one - just purely factual.
So thank you, tin, for heads up, and a better film, in my view, than its 6.8 imdb rating suggests.
