Separately. They need others to trigger their best performances.
McCarthy was great in The Heat with Sandra Bullock to set her up. And Horrible Bosses 1 and 2 were gut-busters, with Bateman and sidekicks. Again, it has to be the right support for these comedians, or they flop like beached fish.
The real reason to see these 2 is Jennifer Aniston who played right down the throat, so to speak, of her male fans' fantasies. Absolutely a hoot with her. Beside her sex appeal, she must have an IQ in the 160's. She is and plays a formidable character.
