This is floating among the freebies on Comcast's movie lineup. A really decent crime story worth your time if you like these.
Dennehy isn't seem much anymore, time and age have almost taken him off the radar scope. But IMO, the big guy carried a lot of gravity in his roles. Here he plays a retired cop who survived a mass killing, to later become a best-selling author writing about that experience.
Woods plays a crime group's high strung hitman who was in on the original robbery and killings. Later in years, he approaches Dennehy to write a new book about his life as he goes about taking down his former employers. Dennehy, no longer a cop, has trouble with his instincts to just bust him, but finds motivations (and threats) to stay in coercion.
Much tension between the two as it goes along, bouncing between admiration and disgust toward the other. Conflicted feelings tighten up in this strange partnership.
The price is right, and its out there on Comcast cable; probably other venues as well. A well done thriller.
