I thought the acting was excellent and it was an "adult" heist film - it dealt with loss, relationships, and it was from a female perspective. I found that refreshing.
That said - The writing was manic and inconsistent... There were questions unanswered that I found thought provoking - Was Harry the father of the baby?
And questions that were left unanswered that were lazy writing - Did Veronica hand $2,000,000 over to Jamal unscathed with no questions asked after his brother Jatemme is found dead?
Additionally, they could have written the reality of these woman joining forces a little more thoroughly.
That said, the acting was terrific. Viola Davis, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya and Robert Duvall all gave great performances. Despite the films flaws, I enjoyed it.
By the way - the driving scene that was shot from an angle, showing the neighborhood change from the "have nots" to the "haves" - appeared to be shot in real time, with no visible cuts.
