...after catching the first trailer in the theaters a while back if struck me. At first I thought it was bad casting in installment 1 - what, with the little blond moppet from hell who couldnt act his way out of a thin paper sack and all. But the preview seemed to reveal that the moppets teenaged replacement in installment 2 can't act either. Now what are the odds of that? And when you consider that Natalie Portman came off as wooden as a 2 by 4 and appears to be heading down that same path again....hmmmmm. Then it hit me!This isnt conincidence or unintentional! It's the basis of the character's motivation. You see, the reason he turns to the dark side is that he's cant act or get a good script - hence he becomes Darth Vader and gets to chew up the scenery in the sequels! No more moronic deadpan lines - just grab somebody by the neck and squeeze the life out of them! Plus you get to wear that cool black neo-nazi storm trooper outfit. Woo Hoo!
It all starts to make a perverse sort of sense....
