The way I do it

You could resort to the same method I'm using (even though my mains are good down to 32Hz), putting an electronic xover (Marchand) between the Anthem's L&R pre-outs and the amplifier's L&R inputs and connecting the sub to this xover. I have my Marchand xover set for 60Hz.

Then set the B&K for Mains=Large and Sub=NO sending all bass to the main channels. Sub output jack is empty.

This way the sub is always in the loop for either 2-channel or HT. By the way, the Marchand has a very low noise floor and doesn't degrade the signal IMO.
