DirecTv or Dish network ???

DirecTv or Dish network?

This is certainly quite a question and I wonder if anyone can get me out of this maze alive? Any help is welcome! Thanks!!

My preferences are simple:

1) Programs: I want good NTSC, I want good HD programming. I love HD.
2) I love to record using a PVR
3) Ultimately, I would love to record things on permanent record for future replay, that will not depend on the hour limit of my PVR. And yes, I would like to tape NTSC but also HDTV. Can anything be recorded on my computer for permanent use?
4) Currently, I do not own a PVR or a dish so the choice still has to be made which way to go. I know I will be getting the JVC 3000 HD recorder.
I read that the Dish Network will be releasing a new tuner in 2002 that will allow connection to the JVC H30000U HDTV VHS Recorder. However, I’ve heard that the decision for inclusion of Component Video is not final yet. So now I wonder about the following:

Will the Recorder will work for HDTV recording without a Component Video output?
Will it be possible to record HDTV broadcast shows from CBS, etc? Will any of the HD dish programming be possible to tape?
Will it be possible to tape any NTSC broadcast on that tape?

As you can see many questions, very little answers. Knowing my preferences and interests which way would you go?
Thanks a lot,
Eric
