I have a DV37 which I sent off to Dan Wright for Level II mods and also
he put in three Bybee's while there. I only used it as a transport so I couldn't comment on it's analog performance via those RCA out's Depends on your processor or DAC's. It has separate power supplies and is very well made (as is the case with all Elite products). I use it now as a backup unit for my EAD TheaterVision P DVD transport. I highly recommend sending your unit to Dan (if you buy one) and you will not be sorry. I have done A/B comparisons with the EAD and they are virtually identical (but the TheaterVision P is several $$$ more). I changed from the DV37 as I wanted the Silicon Image 503 deinterlacing chip as opposed to the Genesis chip (or whatever "pure cinema" chip the Elite uses). As to your question of dual use - I for one think it best to have separate transports with separate preamps (DACS) as PCM and HT are so totally different when it comes to listening experience. But, it costs more (as always).
