I don't know when you bought your RP91, but the 1600 hasn't been around (at least here) for that long. It has much better *stock* audio than any Panasonic DVDP I heard. That is one thing Denon improved. I think a fairer function/price comparison would be between the RP82 and the 1600: though the RP82 isn't available yet, verified info suggests that its audio quality will be poorer than the 1600, and it's video quality will be as good. The RP91 should have better audio than the RP82. The RP82 is lots cheaper than the RP91 and less than the 1600, but its build quality will probably be lots less too...the money has to be saved somewhere for competing items. And Panasonic supplying Denon, they would be sure not to drastically conflict. As I said before, for *video*, it's tough to choose between 1600 and RP91. I personally keep music and video well separated, just my idiosyncrasy for now... But if you are the type who gets really annoyed by video anomalies and decoding/whatever glitches, the 1600 or RP56 wins for now. Don't forget, video is not like sound. You can interpret sound however you want, but video junk is there in front of your eyes and can't be denied or artistically interpreted.
Just my $.02, and though I've ordered an RP82, I still go back and look at the 1600 every few days, getting impatient...
