Sony STR-K502P Cuts out at Volume Level 30+

I bought a Sony STR-K502P receiver second hand on Ebay (yet to recieve it) and it was listed with the following problem: the audio cuts out if the volume is set to anything above 30.
I know nothing about this receiver so I don't know if volume 30 is low or high, etc. If it is low I would assume it has problems, if it is high I would assume the person testing it was using some speakers rated below the receivers power rating.
I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if I am going to need it to be repaired or not, and if you are feeling generous then I would also appreciate any information on this receiver as I will not be getting a manual and can't find anything on the internet about it.
