The days of the vcr are numbered. DVD has pushed them to the budget end of the market. They can be bought for $80 Canadian (or about $40 US). Even JVC Super VHS can be bought for a couple of hundred. Basically I would try and find the most expensive machine you can & assume that will only last a few years. The very cheap ones will likely give only a couple of years of service.
