region 0 is anywhere, Region 4 is Australia, Mexico and South America, Region 2 is Japan, Europe & South Africa, Region 3 is Asia, Region 5 is the rest of Africa, Egypt etc & Russia, Region 6 is China. And what a lot of codswallop it is. Nearly all players can be programmed to handle anything so it means zilch. However beware. Not all players in the USA handle PAL as well as NTSC although your Panasonic might. Thus, even if de-regionalised, you might not be able to play DVDs from anywhere. The USA has the cheapest prices anyway although there are some items released in Europe that are not issued in the USA. However if you are only after movies then no problems - the USA has the biggest inventory of these.
