DVD player. If TV sound is all you want then take it from your TV's RCA output jacks- those are line level and bypass the internal amp.

If your tv doessn't have RCA out then it's way past time to replace it because every TV I've seen in the past ten years has em.

BTW seems like you are making this "Home theater" way too complicated.
A real HT has surround and subs. You are just talking about amplified TV sound.

Run your TV into a cheap receiver or pre of any kind into the AUX input.
Run your CD into the CD input.
Run your DVD into the DVD input and connect your speakers. That's it.
