I've had a bad experience with the marantz. Totally underpowered. It could even drive my old infinity monitors which were of 95db to decent volumes without me having to crank up the volume knob waaay up. Rotel, I find, on the other hand is a little harsh but that is characteristic of Rotel. You might want to listen to it before deciding. You can get the marantz 8000 for abt $600 off the net (used). Rotel is much more expensive at more than $1500. Rotel for sure has a much better power reserve than marantz. I've sworn off marantz from that day onwards.C
