More than a month, to the average Joe

and I guess a little longer to the privileged. It's just that the RP56 was called "discontinued" for so long, the RP62 was highly anticipated, and with the conflicting info about it out there, info got spread around about it pretty quickly once it was available.

I don't know if you consider the RP56 "good", but the Denon 1600 and the 62 are just as "good" re video. I have no problem believing you could have got a flakey example, as the RP62's do not look at all well made, no better than the $80 DVDP's, but they have progresssive scan and some other features.
