I just bought the 42H81 this week and so far so good! Pic is great and watching 4:3 tv in widescreen is great. Only thing I do not like is the remote. Why Toshiba supplies an HDTV with a remote that cannot control a DVD (even there own!) is beyond me. The remote does TV, CBL, VCR. So I guess its time to buy a fancey universal...One Call has the 42H81 for around $1522 delivered! I got Best Buy to match same price including tax and delivery. So I went with the local guy, but One Call seemed like a good oufit.
Samsung, don´t know... seems alot of bang for the buck but I could not find any repair history info, so I stayed away.
