As they told you in the speaker asylum (cross-posts are frowned on but I shouldn't talk as I have done so myself once or twice), the amp built in to a TV will be hissy and underpowered. A good used A/V receiver shouldn't set you back more than $200, and would be well worth the investment (five discrete channels, subwoofer out, DTS and Dolby Digital decoding, video switching capability and various sound processing modes).
