A question about surrond sound..

192.197.178.2

I have a Panasonic RP-62 DVD player. I was curious as to how I can improve my surrond sound. It doesn't have an internal decoder, so it relies on my Sony to decode the digital output through optical out. I used to have a Toshiba SD3750 and returned it, on that one it had a decoder and Dolby Digital 2/0 was displayed on my Sony. Now with the Panasonic player it shows Dolby Digital 3/2 whatever that means, and it sounds alot different. The music is much quieter, which I don't like. Its set right now to Bitstream, and it says to change it to PCM if it doesn't detect the Dolby properly. What do you guys suggest to improve this. Is it crappy output from my DVD player?
