Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

I don't think so

Spending $350-500 on a 25' length of S-Video cable for a DSS application would be a foolish waste of money IMO, even for a kazillionaire. DSS is not a pristine source with its bandwidth limitations and pixelation problems--I would go with the cheapest decent cable available. The $30 one should do fine. If you have a DVD player with a high quality display and are a quality oriented viewer, a more expensive cable might make sense, but there, it should ideally be a component video cable, not S-Video.
