if you mean Dolby 5.1 for home theater, then I can suggest

the B&K 1030, which is from '98, but if you do not need DTS then it is still fine. Used sell for around $400, I think, maybe less. Was $2000 new and had fine build quality. I found this unit too bright though for stereo use, as I believe the standard cheap op amps are used to amplify the signal from input to output jacks.
