If you are using a centre channel you will have to be careful with the matching - trust me, been there, tried all of that.

But I would not be too worried about the rears. I ran dynamic drivers there for years quite effectively although now I'm into DVD-A surround I have E/S at the back and side although it is probably overkill. I most certainly would not have bothered if it was only movies but music (which we have a lot of on LD, DVD & tape) is another ball park.

However there is no cheap way out of that centre channel. If funds were tight I would use a phantom centre until I could afford a matching unit(s). A first class sub, carefully placed (not easy) is more important IMO.
