I have a denon 2801 and denon 2800 dvd player. Check to see that you have the digital input assigned to the dvd mode properly usually is done in the receiver menu, make sure your digital out on the dvd player is active (some player let you turn it off), make sure you are in the DD/DTS mode on the dvd input and that you have it set to get the input from the digital out of the dvd player. Thats about I'll I can think of, sometimes my dvd's have no sound and its as simple as hitting the digital/analog input selector button once. Later.Dave Moeller
