Many of the multichannel DVD/Hi-Rez combo players come with internal decoders. I have the Sony DVP650 changer, using the internal DD & DTS decoders. The unit has level adjustments in the setup menu, but not for volume control ( plus those setting might be lost during prolong power-down). I'm using a Sony TAP for level/volume control of all the channels, with just a little bit of boost for the LFE from the DVD player. And check out the new "universal" players that are starting to come out, so you can have it all.
