you'll connect your DVD player directly to the Plasma, avoiding your preamp/processor which is undoubtedly degrading your image.As far as cables go, you might see a difference with a better cable, or you might not. Given that you've been running your video through the processor and seem satisfied, I doubt you'd actually notice much difference between the cables.
