Samsung HDVT tuner partII

Some of you saw my first posting about the changes I made inside my Samsung SIR-T151 HDTV Tuner. I did some more and have made a list of the stock cap numbers so you can see just where I added in the new 1000uF/25V caps. All of these cap are the same type that can be had from Digi-Key. For every one of them I trimed the leads to 1/2 inch and put a bit of insulation on the leads that cames to 1/16 inch from the ends. At each stock cap I added a tiny drop of solder and also tinned the leads of the new caps. I added the new caps right on top of the stock caps so nothing is changed except the overall value at each location. Note that the black side of the stock caps is the negative side. These caps helped the picture to gain even more sharpness, small text is easy to read, color is richer and everything has better focus. These are the cap numbers: All of them start with a "CH". CH102, 104, 107, 109, 110, 214, 300, 311, 400, 500, 503, 506, 507, 725, 903, 904, 905, 906, and 909. Please note that with all this new capacitance the power supply will have to deal with a lot of leakage current for a few hours. That was about how long it took my picture to really start looking great. I was watching the 49er game when I realized that it was looking really good. It has gotten better still since my tuner is never off. I hope some of you out there will follow my lead and see for yourselves. Good Luck, bobwire
