Here is a real mind-bender.Equipment: Technics SA-AX 720 receiver, Technics SH-AC500D outboard processor, Philips DVD player. When playing "Blazing Saddles" in either the widescreen format or the reformatted version, the sound from the center channel speaker is completely distorted, with minimal sound coming from the front channel speakers. When the decorder is switched to stereo only, sound from the front speakers is fine. All connections between components and speakers appear to be OK. All other DVD's, both owned and rentals, play just fine. My test disc plays fine, and all tests work, both digital and analog.
The "Blazing Saddles" disc is in very good shape, no scratches or breaks in the film.
To further complicate things, the "Blazing Saddles" disc plays fine in surround on our second system at our vacation home. This system is much more modest, an Onkyo surround receiver and a "no-name" DVD player from Wal-Mart or some place like that.
Any insight as to what is up?
Thanks in advance.
