Can you switch the input into your TV between SCART and composite? If not, the simplest thing is to plug and unplug your composite inputs or get an external switch box for it.You can get either S-video or composite into the TV via the SCART. A post below gives you a link to a cable site at

I am unfamiliar with the X-box so have no idea of the quality of the video output but doubt the bother of s-video would give you much benefit. Your TV might not accept s-video via the SCART anyway. Check in the TV manual. In your position I would not bother with s-video.
