-JBL NSP-1 (about $300 street)
-Dayton 10" subwoofer from partsexpress.com (about $125 delivered)
-Outlaw Audio receiver (about $550 delivered) -- www.outlawaudio.com... leaving you $75 for speaker wire & interconnects. The receiver's quality far outstrips those of the speakers, but you could keep the surrounds & upgrade the mains later.
One of the cool things about the JBLs is that mounting brackets are integral, making installation a snap.
