If your DVD player has DTS/DD decoding built in, then you send 5.1 channels to the preamp via 6 interconnects and the preamp must have this 6 channel input. If the DTS/DD decoding is done only on the receiver/preamp side then you send the digital signal from the DVD to the preamp.Sam
